Tour guide: Deborah, check this out! It’s very hard to see.

I go to check and I see a branch. I then start looking for a bug that can camouflage looking like a stick or a leaf 🍂

Tour guide: It’s fine if you couldn’t see it.

I refused to stop and keep looking for this bug. I NEED TO FIND IT!!!

Tour guide: It’s ok, Deborah. I think it moved. Let me reposition the spotting scope.

I turn around. Steven is kneeling on the ground. I look at his face but immediately look to the left where there is a guy with a professional camara taking pictures

In my head, whatever I couldn’t find in the tree THIS GUY FOUND IT AND IS TAKING PICTURES!

Now I’m upset with myself because I COULDN’T FIND THE BUG! 🐛

Proceed to push Steven because this guy is taking pictures and we are in the way. Steven doesn’t move, push him again. Steven doesn’t move. I keep looking at the photographer. In my head I think Steven is looking for something inside his backpack or tying his shoes. Tour guide is pointing. I think he is also telling me to move. I think he is showing me the photographer.

Me: Steven, move! He is trying to take pictures!

Tour guy keeps pointing and Steven still doesn’t move.

I really look at Steven and realized that he is not tying his shoe or looking for something in his backpack. Steven is proposing!!!! When I finally looked in his eyes he said IN SPANISH: I’m in love with you. You are my everything. Would you marry me?

I was really in shock! He totally surprised me and when I really took a look at the 💍 I was blown away how beautiful it was. I gave him a hug and a kiss. Then realized I have to say something now and said: YES!

He did such a great job. I had NO CLUE! He totally surprised me. No hair or nails done, no makeup, no pretty dress. But that’s perfect. That’s just us! Just hiking, exploring, enjoying nature , looking at animals.

I feel so grateful to have Steven in my life. I’m grateful every single day. He completes me. He is everything that I ever wanted and more.
